She later joined a Durban-based radio station called Ukhozi FM in 1995. She worked with the radio station to present gospel music programs and other gospel talk shows.

While Zanele Mbokazi was working at the Ukhozi FM, she worked for other media houses; she worked as a news and current affairs presenter for the KZN Network.

In the year 1997, she got a job as a presenter at SABC1 and presented a gospel music program titled Ihora Lokudumisa. Thereon after, she established her public relations company, titled Mirror PR, in 1999.
