Benjamin Netanyahu‘s political journey commenced in 1988, as he secured a position in the Israeli parliament, known as the Knesset, representing the Likud party. Initially, he served as the deputy minister of foreign affairs from 1988 to 1991 and later became a deputy minister in Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir‘s coalition cabinet from 1991 to 1992. Netanyahu became the prime minister of Israel at age 46 after leading Likud to victory in the Knesset elections in 1996.
