Street traders in Nigeria’s informal Aboki market quoted the United States dollar between roughly ₦1,370 and ₦1,376 when buying cash from customers and between ₦1,385 and ₦1,390 when selling on Saturday, 24 October 2026, across major centres including Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Port Harcourt.

That meant a person handing over $100 would receive about ₦137,000–₦137,600, while someone needing the same amount of dollars would pay close to ₦138,500–₦139,000. The Central Bank of Nigeria’s official Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market rate stood near ₦1,362 per dollar, leaving a street premium of roughly ₦15 to ₦28, or about 1.5–2 percent.

Early Saturday quotes largely held Friday’s band after the naira had closed the previous session around ₦1,385 in the parallel market, with no sharp swing in either direction and demand from importers, travellers and students remaining orderly rather than frantic.

External reserves have recently been reported near $54–55 billion, with oil receipts continuing to support official liquidity even as interbank turnover hit elevated levels late in the week. Quotes still differed slightly by location, volume and time of day, and operators noted that the informal rate can move before the close of business.

The gap between the official window and the parallel market has remained comparatively narrow by recent historical standards, yet cash transactions outside the banking system continue to serve as the practical benchmark for many users who cannot obtain dollars at the CBN rate.

Anyone planning to change money was advised to confirm the live figure with a trusted bureau or dealer, because parallel-market prices are not fixed and can shift on local supply and remittance inflows.
