Mayorkun Sues TikTok Influencer Nicki DaBarbie for N1 Billion Defamation Claim
0 Posted By Kaptain KushPopular Nigerian musician, Adewale Emmanuel, professionally known as Mayorkun, has taken legal action against TikTok influencer, Precious Kingsley, also known as Nickie DaBarbie, filing a N1 billion lawsuit for defamation.
The lawsuit comes after Nickie DaBarbie accused Mayorkun and fellow singer Skiibii of involvement in occult practices, alleging they attempted to exploit her for ritualistic purposes. She claimed to have narrowly escaped after fervent prayer.

In response to these allegations, Mayorkun‘s legal team, Monarchs & Stroud Legal Practitioners, prepared a letter outlining the defamatory nature of Nickie DaBarbie‘s statements. The letter, signed by Associate Oluwagbemiga Ogunlade and Founding Partner Kolawole Hassan, addressed the serious repercussions of her accusations on Mayorkun‘s reputation and emotional well-being.

The letter demanded that Nickie DaBarbie remove the offensive posts from all her social media platforms within 24 hours, issue both a video and written apology to be published in two national newspapers, and cease making any further defamatory remarks. Additionally, Mayorkun sought restitution in the form of a monetary payment of not less than N1 billion for the emotional distress caused by her actions.
Mayorkun vehemently denied Nickie DaBarbie‘s allegations, asserting that they were baseless, false, and damaging to his character and career. The legal proceedings underscore the seriousness with which he regards the defamation of his reputation.
