Mr Ibu’s Ex-Manager Reveals Reasons Behind Leg Amputation: Delayed Detection of Arterial Infection

Posted By Kaptain Kush

Emeka Chochoo, former manager of Nollywood veteran John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has shed light on the circumstances leading to the amputation of the actor’s leg.

According to Chochoo, the decision for amputation was a result of a severe infection affecting one of the arteries at the ankle, which went unnoticed until it was too late.

Having undergone seven successful surgeries, Mr Ibu reportedly responds well to treatment, and Chochoo affirmed that the actor is gradually healing. Initially undetected, the infection impeded blood flow to the leg, necessitating drastic measures.

Chochoo further revealed that the surgeries took place in Nigeria, but plans are underway to fly Mr Ibu abroad for additional treatment. The actor’s medical journey involves addressing various health concerns one at a time, with the hope of comprehensive recovery.

Despite the challenges, Mr Ibu remains resilient in his recovery, surrounded by supportive medical care in Nigeria before seeking further treatment on an international scale.
