Anthony Atamanuik was born on June 15, 1974, in Chelsea, Massachusetts. His father, Lawrence Peter Atamanuik, was a professional drummer, while his mother, Marlena J. Yannetti, was an actress, choreographer, and dancer.
Following his parents’ divorce, he was raised in Massachusetts and later graduated from Emerson College in 1997 with a degree in Film Theory.
After college, he moved to Los Angeles before relocating to New York City, where he trained with the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and developed his improvisational comedy career.

Anthony Atamanuik began his entertainment career as a writer and performer, working for Jim Henson Interactive, Mr. Show, and other comedy productions before becoming a regular performer at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.
He gained national attention through his highly accurate impersonation of Donald Trump, first performing it in the live comedy tour Trump vs. Bernie alongside comedian James Adomian.
The success of the live show led to Comedy Central commissioning The President Show (2017), which Atamanuik created, wrote, executive produced, and starred in as a fictional version of President Trump.
The series earned widespread praise for its political satire and sharp writing.
