Chinmay Mandlekar was born on February 2, 1979, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, to Deepak Mandlekar and Neelima Mandlekar. He grew up with his sister, Viraja Deepak Mandlekar, in a Marathi-speaking family.
His religious background is Hinduism. Chinmay attended St. Sebastian Goan High School and later studied at M.L. Dahanukar College of Commerce in Mumbai.
