Early life and education
Indrajith Sukumaran was born on December 17, 1979, in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, to actors Sukumaran and Mallika Sukumaran. He grew up alongside his younger brother, Prithviraj Sukumaran, who later became a prominent actor and director.
The brothers were raised in a household deeply connected to Malayalam cinema.
Indrajith began his schooling at Shrine Vailankanni Senior Secondary School in Chennai and later attended St. Joseph’s Boys’ School in Coonoor. After his family moved to Kerala, he studied at NSS Public School, Perunthanni, and St. Mary’s Residential Central School in Thiruvananthapuram.

His adult film career began in 2002, when he appeared in Oomappenninu Uriyadappayyan. That same year, his performance as Eapen Pappachi in Meesa Madhavan attracted considerable attention and established him as an actor capable of playing strong antagonist roles.
He continued appearing in prominent Malayalam films such as Mizhi Randilum, Runway, Vesham, Finger Print, Police, Chanthupottu, Classmates, Baba Kalyani, Chotta Mumbai, and Arabikkatha.
