Benjamin Wallfisch was born on August 7, 1979, in London, England, to celebrated musicians Raphael Wallfisch and Elizabeth Wallfisch.
He comes from a prominent Jewish musical family, with his paternal grandmother being Holocaust survivor and cellist Anita Lasker-Wallfisch. He has two younger siblings, Simon Wallfisch and Joanna Wallfisch.
