Miley Destiny Ray Hope Cyrus (born November 23, 1992), stage named Miley Cyrus is a tremendous American singer, songwriter, actress, and television personality. 

Renowned for her peculiar raspy voice, her music incorporates elements of varied styles and genres, which includes pop, country pop, experimental, hip hop, and rock. She is regarded as one of the few successful child actors-turned-singers.

Miley Cyrus‘ career accolades include MTV’s Best Artist of 2013 Award, entries on the Time 100 list in 2008 and 2014, and placement on Billboard’s Greatest of All Time Artists Chart in 2019.

Early Life

Destiny Hope Cyrus (now, Miley Ray Cyrus) was given birth in Franklin, Tennessee, on November 23, 1992, to Tish Cyrus (mother) and a country singer father named Billy Ray Cyrus.

At birth, she had supraventricular tachycardia, a condition causing an abnormal resting heart rate. Her birth name, Destiny Hope, depicts her parents’ belief that she would accomplish great things. Her parents also nicknamed her “Smiley“, which they later shortened to “Miley“, because she often smiled as an infant.

In 2008, Destiny Hope legally changed her name to Miley Ray Cyrus; her middle name is in honor of her grandfather, who was a Democratic politician called Ronald Ray Cyrus from Kentucky.

Against the advice of her father’s record company, Miley Cyrus‘ parents secretly married on December 28, 1993, a year after her birth. They had two more children together, a son named Braison Cyrus and a daughter named Noah Cyrus

From previous relationships, her mother has two other children named Brandi Cyrus and Trace Cyrus. Her father’s first child named Christopher Cody was born in April 1992 but was raised by his mother, Kristin Luckey, in South Carolina.
