Early life and education

Bovi, a Nigerian comedian, was born on September 25, 1979, in Benin City, Edo State. He began his education at UNIBEN Staff School and later attended Government College in Ughelli. Chief Eddie Ugboma and Margaret Ugboma raised him. he has three siblings named Jiji, Albert, and Zino.

 Due to disciplinary issues, he was forced to leave and continue his studies at Edokpolor Grammar School. Eventually, he transferred again to Boys Model Secondary School in Onicha Olona, an all-boarding school.

After completing his secondary school education, Bovi pursued his passion for theater arts by enrolling at Delta State University, Abraka. 

Career 

Bovi’s career took off in 2007 when he took on multiple roles in the sitcom Extended Family, including writing and producing. This successful show played a significant role in propelling his career as a comedian.

 The following year, in 2008, he made his stand-up comedy debut at Nigeria’s renowned comedy event, Night of a Thousand Lies, orchestrated by Opa Williams. Within three years, by 2011, Bovi had become the headline act for this show nationwide. 

Bovi held his inaugural stand-up comedy special, Bovi: Man on Fire, at the Eko Convention Center in Lagos in 2013. The performance garnered immense acclaim and was subsequently made available on DVD. 

Subsequently, Bovi has organized multiple stand-up comedy specials, such as Bovi: Man on Fire 2 in 2014 and Bovi: Man on Fire 3 in 2017.

Bovi and Kris, who married on September 19, 2009, first crossed paths in 2007. It was during this time that Kris was employed as a flight attendant. The moment Bovi laid eyes on Kris, he felt an instant attraction towards her, which led them to embark on a romantic relationship shortly after.
