Personal Life
Alberto married Annette Arm in 1949 after a long relationship; they had no children. He lived and worked in the same tiny, unheated Paris studio on rue Hippolyte-Maindron from 1926 until his death.
His brother Diego was his primary model and foundry collaborator. A heavy smoker and coffee addict, he suffered chronic stomach issues and died of pericarditis on January 11, 1966, in Chur, Switzerland. His height was 170 centimetres.
