Aboki Naira to Dollar Black Market Exchange Rate Today, 11th August 2026
The Nigerian naira traded at approximately ₦1,405 to the US dollar in the parallel market, popularly known as the Aboki or black market rate, on Tuesday, 11th August 2026, according to currency dealers operating in major commercial centres including Lagos, Abuja and Kano. Buying rates hovered around ₦1,390 to ₦1,398 depending on location and transaction size, while sellers quoted figures close to ₦1,405.
This level maintained a relatively narrow premium over the official Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market rate, which stood near ₦1,368 per dollar based on Central Bank of Nigeria and FMDQ data. The gap of roughly ₦37 reflected continued moderation in retail foreign exchange pressures compared with wider differentials seen in previous years.

Traders attributed the steady parallel market quotes to balanced demand from importers, travellers and businesses needing dollars for overseas payments, alongside improved liquidity from autonomous sources in the formal window. Activity remained consistent across Bureau de Change operators, with rates showing only marginal variations by city and volume.
Market participants noted that the dual-rate structure continues to shape everyday transactions for many Nigerians, even as official channels provide greater access. Exchange rates can differ slightly based on the specific dealer, time of day and amount involved, and individuals are advised to verify current quotes before completing any deal.
