Olumide Abiodun Oworu (born December 11, 1994) is a renowned Nigerian actor, politician, model, rapper, and brand influencer. 

He began his career as a child actor at the age of six when he was cast in the TV drama Everyday People. 

Olumide Oworu has appeared in numerous television, web, and feature films. He won the Best Supporting Actor award at the 2016 AMVCA.

Early Life

Olumide Oworu was born into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Oworu on the 11th of December 1994. He was birthed in a private medical centre in Surulere, Lagos. He is a Yoruba man and is an indigene of Lagos State. 

He is a Lagos-bred man who has lived in the city since he was a toddler. His formative years were spent residing in Surulere. 

Olumide Oworu speaks English, Yoruba, and Pidgin fluently. He is from a middle-class background and was raised in the Christian faith. He is the only child of his parents.

Education

Olumide Oworu attended choice schools for his formal education. For his elementary education, he was educated at a leading private-run primary school in Surulere. 

He is an alumnus of King’s College Lagos, where he graduated with good grades in his O’Levels exams. Olumide Oworu bagged his Bachelor’s Degree from the private Christian institution Babcock University in 2017.

Career

Olumide Oworu‘s foray into acting began at six when he landed a role in the television drama Everyday People. He acted alongside Nollywood icons such as Sam Loco Efe, Carol King, and Nobert Young. After success in Everyday People, he landed more film roles in Nollywood TV dramas and web series. 

He was cast in MTV Shuga Seasons 3 and 4, where he played the character – Weki. Olumide Oworu has appeared in many feature films and TV dramas. Notable mentions include A Soldier’s Story, 8 Bars and a Clef, The Patriot, Staying Strong, Hammer, The Men In Her Life, and Man Of God, amongst others. 

He has become a household name for his recurring role in the Africa Magic television Series The Johnsons. Olumide Oworu plays Tari in the family-themed drama alongside veteran actors like Charles Inojie, Chinedu Ikedieze, Kunle Bamtefa, and Ada Ameh. 

In 2021, he landed a role in the Ndani web series Rumour Has It season 3. He was cast to play the role of Atlas in the Netflix Original Drama series Far From Home. The series was released in December 2022.

Besides acting, Olumide Oworu has also had a successful career as a model. He began modelling after graduating from high school.
