Kwesi Arthur (born 18 December 1994) is the stage name of Emmanuel Kwesi Danso Arthur Junior, a Ghanaian rapper, songwriter and musician from Tema, Ghana. He attended Tema Senior High School, but because of financial limitations, he could not continue his tertiary studies.

His spotlight appeared when he delivered the single “Grind Day,” which got boundless praise and a co-sign from rap heavyweights Sarkodie and Medikal.

The young musician’s smash hit tune “Grind day” catapulted him to popularity.

Early Life & Education 

Kwesi Arthur was born on December 18th, 1994. The rapper’s parents, Vivian Danso (mother) and Samuel Danso Arthur (father), raised him in Tema, Ghana, where he was born. 

Emmanuel Kwesi Danso Arthur Junior was the name given to him. Alongside his four siblings, he grew up. He has a sister and twin brothers and is the oldest child. He has a musician brother named DayOnTheTrack.

The parents of the musician are from Nigeria. Interesting discussions over his genuine ancestry have been created on social media. Kwesi Arthur declares himself to be a native of Tema, nevertheless. 

He moved from Sakumono Estate to Naylor SDA to Temasco while continuing to live at Good Shepherd. Kwesi Arthur went to Ghana Senior High School to study (SHS). While Kwesi Arthur‘s dream of becoming a journalist was dashed due to his inability to pay his tuition, the situation did give rise to his musical career. 

Career 

Kwesi Arthur began his career due to the inspiration he received from Drake, a Canadian rapper. The rapper was moved by Thank Me Later‘s artistic vision, and from that point on, he was prepared to devote more of his time to honing the craft he was pursuing. It didn’t take long for him to discover the industry’s secrets and succeed. 

The rapper dropped his number-one track, “Grind Day,” from his EP Live From Nkrumah Krom (2017).  The song was released under his independent label and gained enormous support from the Ground Up Chale social action organization. Being supported by Ground Up Chale as a newcomer was immensely gratifying because they were already well-established in Ghana. 

After releasing his hit song, he later produced a remix with Sarkodie and Medikal. Numerous musicians from Ghana, including Sarkodie, Medikal, KiDi, Jason El-A, R2Bees, B4bonah, M.anifest, Elom Adablah, and Stonebwoy, as well as Nasty C, a rising star from South Africa, have collaborated with him. 

This became a technique for the rapper to be dominant and get his music in the Southern regions of Africa because the latter is one of the top Trap High Hop musicians in South Africa. 

The lead single from the Grammy-winning rapper’s upcoming album, Turn On The Lights, which was nominated for a BET award, was given to his fans. He has been featured in Sore Remix by Yaw Tog alongside Stormzy.
