Early Life & Education

Nyesom Wike, a man of many talents, was born on a rather auspicious day, December 13, 1967, in the picturesque town of Obio-Akpor in Nigeria. His father, Nlemanya Wike, was a prominent Nigerian businessman and an evangelical reverend. 

A true scion of his father’s legacy, he received his formative education at Government Secondary School, Eneka in Obiakpor, and pursued a Bachelor of Laws degree from the prestigious Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUT).

Ever the studious fellow, Nyesom Wike attained a Master of Arts in Political and Administrative Studies from the same institution. But his academic achievements are only a small part of his impressive story.

In 2020, his father, Nlemanya Wike, made headlines when he was attacked by some bandits who used explosives against him. However, the gallant efforts of the police led to the apprehension of the culprits.
