Early Life

Olabode Adams Michael was born and raised in Lagos and attended the University of Lagos for his tertiary studies. He was born in Lagos, Nigeria, and started playing the drums as a baby. His elder brother pushed him to try singing, and he rapidly developed a passion for music.

He is the fifth kid and began playing the drums as a child. His elder brother encouraged him to attempt singing. Smada began his music career in 2018 and has released many singles and two EPs. On all platforms, he has over 500,000 streams.

Smada secured a deal with Native Records, a record company created by Nonso Amadi, a Nigerian music producer and entrepreneur, in 2022. “Ye Anthem,” Smada’s first single with Native Records, was released in March 2022 and instantly became a hit, peaking at number one on the Apple Music Nigeria Top 100 chart.
