Early Life

Mrs. Fati Attahiru was born and brought up in Kaduna North, Kaduna State.

She grew and became a Super and a Strong Lady. Mrs. Attahiru got married to Lt. Gen Ibrahim Attahiru the former Chief of Army Staff (now late).

As the Divisional Chairperson of the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association 82 Division Nigerian Army, Mrs Fati Attahiru established a fully-fledged Solar-powered ICT center for youths in the barracks.

Launched and set up the Barrack Investment Initiative Program (BIIP) for six cooperatives, which has helped women engage in small-scale businesses.

Fati Attahiru holds a Bachelor of Arts in Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics from the University of Leicester.

She is a recipient of the Commonwealth Chevening Scholarship and holds a masters degree in Development Studies with specialization in Power, Participation and Social Change from the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex; an MSc in Information Technology, from Cranfield University, UK, and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics from the University of Leicester.

In her previous role where she served as the Operations and Coordination Specialist at UNDP, Fati Attahiru provided strategic programmatic and operational oversight for the UNDP North East program in Nigeria.

She was instrumental in jointly organizing a high-level AU-LCBC Ministerial conference with the Federal Ministry of Water Resources, managing responsible party agreements, drafting donor progress reports amongst others.
