Walta Angapukotanka Kalada (born 12 January 1978), commonly referred to as Walta Anga, is a super-talented, skilful and creative Nollywood actor. He also doubles as a model and TV personality.

He has starred in several Nigerian films such as Heart of a Fighter, Extreme Pressure, Deepwater, Mission Impossible, and New Jerusalem‘s most significant.

He’s one of the lucky few actors to ever-grace the same podium with legendary Nollywood actors such as Olu Jacobs, Rita Dominic, Tonto Dikeh, Ebube Nwangbo, Pete Edochie, Patience Ozokwor, and a host of other top actors.

Outside the camera, Walter Anga is a philanthropist who loves giving back to the community through various functions involving financial and emotional support.

Early Life

Walter Anga was born with the birth name Walta Angapukotanka Kolada on 12 January 1978 in the popular city of Port-Harcourt located in Rivers State, South-south Nigeria.

He is the third child of five children whose parents are Stephen Angapukotanka (father) and Evelyn Angapukotanka (mother).

He lived his entire childhood together with his family in Ogu-Bolo local government located in the riverine area of Rivers State, Southern part of Nigeria.

Education

Walter Anga obtained his West African Senior School Certificate attached with his First School Leaving Certificate in Rivers State.

He then enrolled at the prestigious University of Port Harcourt in 1998 and walked out with a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts in 2002.

Career

Walter Anga had to wait until after graduating from the University before unleashing his acting skills. Then, he grabbed his first role as a supporting character in a Nollywood film titled Labista starring Ernest Asuzu, Emma Ehumadu, and Jerry Amilo. He then took a break for two years before securing another role.

At that period, he relocated to Enugu state to hunt for roles but found it Impossible to land one due to some unexplainable circumstances.

He became frustrated and almost gave up acting and eventually venture into something else. Finally, however, his late elder brother Barrister Ishmael Anga and his mother, who believed in his talents, encouraged him to return to Port-Harcourt and start all over, to which he agreed.

And in 2003, Walter Anga made a sensational return to Port-Harcourt city, where he met superstar actor Nonso Diobi and veteran film director Ifeanyi Ogbonna.

He acted in the film titled New Jerusalem, directed by the renowned Ifeanyi Ogbonna, and had Kingsley Ukaegbu as the producer. The movie turned out to be a block-buster and propelled him to greater heights.
