Hadiza Aliyu (born 1 June 1989), also addressed as Hadiza Gabon, is a sensational Nigerian professional actress and filmmaker who acts in both Hausa and English movies. 

She also serves as an ambassador for Indomie noodles and MTN Nigeria company. She was named best actress at 2013 Best of Nollywood Awards and won the 2nd Kannywood/MTN Awards in 2014.

Referred to as Queen of Kannywood, Hadiza Aliyu Gabon is regarded as one of the most popular actresses that have changed the face of the Kannywood industry. She is the founder of the HAG Foundation.

Early Life & Education

Hadiza Aliyu Gabon was born in Libreville, Republic of Gabon, on 1 June 1989. Her mother’s name is Hajiya Halima while her father is Malam Aliyu.

She is the daughter of Malam Aliyu, an elder statesman. On her father’s side, Hadiza Aliyu Gabon hails from the Gabonese ancestry, whereas on her mother’s side, she is of Fulani descent from Adamawa State, Nigeria.

Hadiza Aliyu Gabon attended primary and secondary schools in her country of birth, where she wrote her A-Level examination having an aspiration to become a lawyer and later chose Law as her first-degree course.

She started her university year as a student. However, had to drop out of school due to some issues that trailed her studies. 

Though Hadiza Aliyu Gabon‘s education was untimely halted, it allowed her to obtain a diploma programme in French from the prestigious Ecol de Francaise Gabonese in Gabon.

Career

Hadiza Aliyu Gabon joined the Kannywood movie industry not long after arriving from Gabon to Adamawa State, Nigeria. She switched from Adamawa to Kaduna upon developing an interest in the Kannywood film industry with her cousin. 

Then she had a chance to encounter already-established Kannywood star Ali Nuhu and sought his assistance to launch her as an actress. 

However, Hadiza Aliyu Gabon made her much-awaited debut in 2009 when she was cast in a Hausa film titled Artabu. She got into the limelight in the Kannywood film industry as one of the leading female stars through the help and guidance of Ali Nuhu and later Aminu Shariff.

She decided to increase her boundaries in the movie scene by joining Nollywood in 2017, following the footsteps of Ali Nuhu, Sani Musa Danja, Maryam Booth, Yakubu Muhammed, and Rahama Sadau. 

Moreover, Hadiza Aliyu Gabon was featured in her debut Nollywood movie alongside Mike Ezuruonye, Mark Angel and Emmanuella, a critically acclaimed movie titled Lagos Real Fake Life.

In 2017, multiple award-winning actor Ali Nuhu debunked rumours about secretly marrying Hadiza Aliyu Gabon. A picture of Ali Nuhu and Hadiza Aliyu Gabon went viral on social media, with users claiming the pair got married in Kano. 

However, Ali Nuhu, who manages FKD Film Production, lamented that some people would formulate false rumours without thinking of their consequences out of their ulterior motives. He added that picture that triggered the rumour was generated from a film titled ‘Akushi‘, where the actress was playing the role of his wife.

The court sitting in Kano granted the order to the Kano state commissioner of police, Mohammed Wakili. Hadiza Aliyu Gabon was invited to court over assault allegations made against her by one Mustapha Badamasi Naburaska, who accused her of assaults but failed to show up at the proceeding.
