Early Life

Blessing Onwukwe was born on the 2nd of July to Mr and Mrs Onwukwe in the city of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. Though born in the South-South of Nigeria, she is an Igbo woman. Her home state is Abia.

She has a younger sister named, Uloma Faith. She is 23 years old.

Growing up, her parents instilled in her the importance of hard work, honesty and having good integrity.

She lost both parents to the cold hands of death in 2019 and they were buried in their home town, Abia State on the 31st of May 2019.

Education

She completed her primary school and secondary school education in the South-South geopolitical zone of Nigeria.

She bagged a degree in Physics from the University Of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

Career

As a kid, Blessing had participated in school plays. This was where the love for acting came. This love was rekindled whenever she watched movies on TV and she promised herself that she would be on the big screen one day.

After graduating from the university, she worked in the corporate sector for a while so as to earn a good living.

Nevertheless, the desire to be an actress was still burning in her mind. She informed ace director, actress and filmmaker, Emem Isong about this desire when she met the latter at an event.

Emem Isong encouraged Blessing to pursue her dream and even gave the latter her complimentary card.

It would be several months later before Blessing took the giant step in fulfilling her dream. She resigned from her job and reached out to Emem Isong, who invited her to audition for a movie she was about to produce.

Thus, Blessing made her film debut in the movie, Bursting Out. She acted alongside top actors such as Majid Michel and Genevieve Nnaji. The latter even commended her for her actions during production.

Since then, she has been featured in numerous Nollywood movies such as King of Boys, Mr Not So Perfect, Elevator Baby, Taken, Women Are Scum, House 69, The Conductor, Dance To My Beat and many others.

She has worked with top actors like Kunle Remi, Jibola Debo, Yemi Solade, Femi Branch, Sola Sobowale, Akin Lewis, Timini Egbuson, Toyin Abraham, Yvonne Jegede, Bimbo Ademoye, Femi Jacobs, Anthony Monjaro, Daniel Lloyd, amongst others.

Asides from acting, Blessing is also an entrepreneur. She is the CEO of a food brand that sells packaged stockfish to supermarkets and malls.
