King Bawa (born July 8, 1992), Commonly known as Kheengz, is a creative Nigerian rapper, songwriter, and actor. He has gained recognition for his contributions to the music industry with his unique style of Hausa rap. 

Through his music, he actively spreads messages of peace and unity among the people of Nigeria. Kheengz has also showcased his talent in acting through various roles in Nigerian films and television shows, including his appearance in the popular Netflix series Crazy, Lovely, Cool.

Early Life & Education

Kheengz, a Nigerian rapper, was born in 1992 in Bida of Nupe town, Niger State. Although no information is available about his parents’ names in the media, they can be referred to as Mr. and Mrs. Bawa. 

Growing up, his parents raised Kheengz alongside his five siblings, and he is the third child. In 2006, he began attending a school; he is a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University.

Career

Kheengz embarked on his rap journey during his time in secondary school back in 2006. When he reached university in 2010, he started recording his music. Finally, on August 30, 2013, Kheengz proudly released his debut project, the College Kid Mixtape. This mixtape showcased collaborations with renowned rap artists such as M.I. Abaga, Erigga, Snowflake, Soul Flavour, and G’rell.

On December 25, 2019, he introduced his first album, Voice of Arewa, also known as Voice of the North. The album received tremendous acclaim in the northern region, and his song I Am North garnered significant attention in the music industry due to its exploration of area stereotypes.

Kheengz‘s profile in the Nigerian music industry was further elevated when he collaborated with Falz and M.I. Abaga on the hit single Who Be This Guy in 2021. Additionally, Kheengz showcased his versatility by appearing in the Nigerian television series Crazy, Lovely, Cool on Netflix.
