Selita Ebanks (born February 17, 1983) is a gifted Caymanian model, TV personality, and actress. 

She is best known for her work as a Victoria’s Secret Angel from 2007 to 2009 and her appearances in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue from 2006 to 2009. 

Selita Ebanks has also appeared in Ralph Lauren, Givenchy, Gap, and CoverGirl campaigns. In addition to her modeling work, she has also appeared in several films and television shows, including Uncorked, The Apprentice, and Runaway.

Early Life & Education

Selita Ebanks was born on February 17, 1983. She was raised in George Town, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. She was born to a Jamaican father and a Caymanian mother. She hails from a very large family numbering eight in total.

Her mother, Anita Ebanks, encouraged her development through extracurricular programs. She moved to the United States and settled in Staten Island, where she graduated from Curtis High School. 

Selita Ebanks was accepted to attend undergraduate studies at Columbia University and New York University but chose to pursue modeling instead. 

In 2000, at the age of 17, while walking through the turnstiles at Six Flags Great Adventure, Selita Ebanks was scouted by an agent from Elite Model Management.

Personal Life

In 2011, Selita Ebanks courted Terrence J, and in 2013, they broke up. She was also engaged to Nick Cannon. However, they got separated just five months after the engagement. 

Selita Ebanks has dated Ryan Press (2016), Terrence J (2011-2013), Mehcad Brooks (2010-2011), Ye (Kanye West) (2010), Maxwell (2009-2010) and Osi Umenyiora (2007-2008).

In her home of George Town, she runs a talent school called Stardom Youth Foundation. The foundation has been in operation since 2004.

Selita Ebanks has walked the runway for Betsey Johnson, Catherine Malandrino, Pamella Roland, and Tommy Hilfiger. She has worked as a model for Abercrombie & Fitch, Tommy Hilfiger, and DKNY, and in 2005, Victoria’s Secret signed her up.

Selita Ebanks posed for Victoria’s Secret for their Ipex Bra collection before she became an Angel. At the 2005 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, she and Izabel Goulart made their first appearances as Victoria’s Secret Angels. In 2005, Tyra Banks was proud that Selita Ebanks was the face of black women at Victoria’s Secret.

For Victoria’s Secret’s Christmas Dreams and Fantasies 2007 catalog, Selita Ebanks was chosen to wear the $4,500,000 “Very Sexy” Holiday Fantasy Bra Set with diamonds, emeralds, rubies, and yellow sapphires. She wore the fantasy bra set to Victoria’s Secret fashion show on December 4, 2007.

On November 26, 2007, Selita Ebanks and other Victoria’s Secret models appeared on an episode of How I Met Your Mother called The Yips (Miranda Kerr, Heidi Klum, Adriana Lima, Marisa Miller, and Alessandra Ambrosio).
