Rotimi Akeredolu, a celebrated Nigerian politician, was born on July 21, 1956 in Owo, Ondo State. His father, Reverend J. Ola Akeredolu, served as a priest, while his mother, Evangelist Grace B. Akeredolu, was known for her strong Christian faith.

From 1997 to 1999, Rotimi Akeredolu served as the Attorney General of Ondo State, earning the designation of Senior Advocate of Nigeria during this tenure. He also chaired the Legal Aid Council from 2005 to 2006.

His political journey continued, and on November 27, 2016, Akeredolu emerged victorious in the Ondo State gubernatorial election, defeating rivals Olusola Oke and Eyitayo Jegede. His inauguration as the Governor of Ondo State occurred on February 24, 2017, in Akure.

In the 2020 Ondo State Governorship election, Rotimi Akeredolu secured victory in 15 out of 18 local governments, defeating contenders like Olusola OkeD.I. KekemekeJimi OdimayoSegun Abraham, among others, in the APC primary election. His running mate for the election was Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who was chosen after a controversy with the deputy, Agboola Ajayi.
